Anthony Maggio
Executive Creative Director, Boulder, CO
Hello. My name is Anthony Maggio. You visited my website. Prepare to hire.
Yes, that is in fact me dressed as Inigo Montoya for Halloween 2020. And yes, that’s my actual hair. I thought the get-up (“drip,” if you were born after 2005) was solid enough to post on Twitter (“X,” if you were born after 2005). Some thought it was so good that they reposted and tagged Mandy Patinkin. Alas, no response from the OG. Such is life.
Professionally, my highlights revolve around team success. I’ve guided clients and creative staff through organizational transitions. I’ve reached across teams to help pitch new business while keeping my own team and clients running smoothly. And I bring an even-keeled, empathetic approach to my work to ensure my colleagues know I genuinely care about them and their success.
In the trenches I’m a writer at heart who thrives when the clock is ticking. You can draw a straight line to this from my sports journalism days, where the deadline for submitting a story was the final whistle. You can also thank reporting for my keen attention to detail. My name isn’t on my ads, but I treat everything I do like it comes with a byline. This extends beyond the written word, as I pride myself in providing guidance to elevate both copy and art.
But what I’m most proud of is my ability to command a room.
I’ve hosted multiple events where I’ve had to speak in front of hundreds of people. I’ve helped sell in creative and new business in front of clients worth millions of dollars. And I’ve done it by working hard at the storytelling and delivery while also becoming comfortable in my own skin. I’m not out there trying to be Don Draper (a fictional…never mind). I’m out there trying to be the most genuine, knowledgeable, approachable version of myself, which allows me to connect on a personal level with clients. I build trust and help people feel comfortable by being 100%, unapologetically me. And I try to be a better version of myself every day.
Oh, and you’ll never guess this last part—I also love fun! My dad jokes are good (bad?), I love chatting sports, music, movies, TV, food, and pop culture (assuming we mean Xennial pop culture). You also won’t find someone quicker on the draw with a perfect GIF for the Teams chat. How’s that for a flex?
I also am not left-handed.
